SURFACE RECORDING GYRO
The Surface Recording Gyro (SRG) is a versatile gyroscopic instrument package which can be used in both multi-shot or single-shot orientation modes. The SRG provides real-time data readouts on inclination, borehole direction, tool face, and temperature. APPLICATION: The SRG is the tool of choice when instant survey data is required to save time. COMPONENTS: The SRG consists of a state of the art, Humphrey DG69, two-degree free-bearing gyro, an inclinometer utilizing accelerometers and a Transmission Module equipped with hybrid FSK Transmission Multi-plexing unit for communication with the surface computer and digital processing equipment through a single conductor wireline. COMPUTER PROGRAM includes the following graphs; horizontal projection, vertical projection, 3D projection, and gyro drift. FEATURES: The SRG is easily transportable to offshore and land locations. The unusually small 2" high-temperature heat shield is capable of temperatures up to 316 C (600F) for six(6) to eight (8) hours.
